An IMGW News Report
In a surprising twist, ex-Republican candidate, Austrian immigrant, and now US citizen, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former Republican governor of California and Hollywood heavyweight, has thrown his weight behind Kamala Harris. Yes, you read that right! In a rare endorsement shared on X, Schwarzenegger, who insists he “doesn’t really do endorsements” and has a healthy distrust of most politicians, is going all in for the Democrats.
“I will always be an American before I am a Republican,” he declared. “That’s why I’m voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. You don’t recognise our country, and you’re right to be furious.”
Taking aim at Donald Trump, he lamented, “A candidate who won’t respect your vote unless it’s for him… a candidate who sends his followers to storm the Capitol while he watches with a Diet Coke—he won’t solve our problems.”
Schwarzenegger warned that sticking with Trump means “four more years of nonsense that makes us angrier and more divided.” It seems he’s ready to close the book on that chapter of American history.
But don’t think this is Schwarzenegger’s first skirmish with Trump. Their feud dates back to when he took over The Celebrity Apprentice, cheekily suggesting they swap jobs when Trump mocked the show’s ratings. Following the January 6 insurrection, he boldly stated Trump would “go down in history as the worst president ever.”

Meanwhile, celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio and Bad Bunny have joined the Harris fan club, while Buzz Aldrin, the last surviving Apollo 11 astronaut, endorsed Trump, praising his first term’s “revitalised interest in space”. In this wild political landscape, it seems there’s room for every star—no matter how far-fetched!
